libdevice-modem-perl software package provides Perl class to interface generic modems (AT-compliant), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdevice-modem-perl
libdevice-modem-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdevice-modem-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdevice-modem-perl *
You will get with libdevice-modem-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
